The Boy Genius is reporting that there is going to be a slight delay in the release of the much-awaited Blackberry 9000, and will more likely be released around late May at best, and if not then June or possibly August. I know a lot of Palm users are already itching to get their hands on a new blackberry device, but I’m afraid there’s nothing else for them to do but wait. The 6-month exclusive AT&T US contract speculation still lives, as well as a late May release date, but according to BGR’s sources, “the July / August release date might be accurate.” So if you’re a CrackBerry user yourself and are eagerly looking forward for this device, pull yourself together and tell yourself the wait isn’t that long. Practice Yoga or something to help you cool down. It’s just a few months. You’ll live.

Gadget mavens Firebox has finally made available the Tengu USB desktop toy which is guaranteed to add a whole lot of excitement to your world. Perfect for folks who have very few or no friends at all, Tengu will be able to keep you company at the office by making different faces according to its mood. In addition, he isn’t as tone deaf as you might think despite the lack of biological ears - Tengu is smart enough (or at least he was programmed to be) to lip sync according to the music that is played, making it look as though he is singing his heart out with you as the only sad audience!
Then take a look at Wakozi. Yes, it’s an online Web 2.0 site. Plug in your address and it shows you what liquor stores and delis near you that deliver. Click on a store and you can see what they sell, how much it costs and then you can create a shopping list, checkout, including paying with a tip.
Ever since Intel compared the criticality of its (still) forthcoming Silverthorne (which now goes by Atom, if you couldn’t guess) processor to the original Pentium last June, we’ve all wondered just how fantasmical our worlds would become when this thing finally dropped. Now, however, Tom’s Hardware has discovered that the release may actually do more for Intel than we geeks. After consulting a source it believes to be quite credible, it found that the CPU — which will likely sell for upwards of $30 at the low-end — will cost Intel just “$6 to $8, including production, packaging and shipping.” Without busting out the abacus, it’s still fairly easy to see how profitable said chips could be if Intel can move these at even a snail’s pace, but of course, we’d take the dollars and cents estimates with a grain of salt until they actually hit the market.
Urban Outfitters have just unveiled a couple of headphones that are really too large for their own good, making an extremely pronounced stand where music playback is concerned. The Grande headphones will ship in a neon pink and green color or just plain black (which always stands against the test of time), accompanied by a coiled cord that makes carrying it around a whole lot less bulky. In addition, you can use the Grande headphones with your cell phone, allowing you to listen to your mom with greater clarity as she nags you on the umpteenth time to clear the room. As for the Stiloso headphones, they’re even more retro looking, so it really depends on your budget as to which headset to pick up. The Grande and Stiloso will retail for $70 and $52, respectively.
